PJV started playing music with the guitar (songs, folk music, ...) first self-taught, then with the bluesman Alain Berkès (gipsy, jazz, blues, ...). After a pop-rock experience, he studied theory, was taught by composers including Philippe Leroux, Michel Decoust and Alain Roizenblat. He obtained several First Prizes (Orchestration, Composition, ...), and graduated in Electroacoustic.
In addition to being awarded - as a composer and producer - Best Original Score at the international film festival Paris-Tout-Court , PJV (aka Phil J. Vernier or Philippe Vernier) initiated, translated and supervised the French augmented version (2011 - Éd. Henry Lemoine) of the American treatise "The Study of Orchestration" by Samuel Adler, widely used among composers, orchestrators and arrangers.
Since April 2018, willing to start again from scratch, PJV initiated a new sound series: "Chronicle Of Hypnotic Pastilles". Each opus is a mini-album made of ten or so pre-produced short tracks (1' to 2'30), meant to be sync-able, all controlled compositions, easy and quick to clear.
